Learn about ancient old world food products made from wine grapes & olives grown and produced by a husband and wife duo from Terra Sonoma Artisan Foods & Garden Creek Vineyards, located in Geyserville. Come and enjoy a unique insight into the world of the vine through this Vintage Luncheon menu. In wine country we all love our wine but the grapevine has so much more to offer! Taste their estate olive oil, the juice of the unripened grape, VerJus and the rich caramel flavor of cooked grape must, Saba. You’ll learn about these very special ingredients, along with simple and delicious recipes to use them. The food will be paired with the couples’ wines only sold thru their winery and their mailing list. Join Junipero & Co. for an informative and tasty afternoon! Samantha will discuss the proper care for your backyard olive trees and offer tips to help maintain healthy and happy olive trees. She will also discuss the characteristics of many of her favorite Tuscan varietals, in addition to the history of the magnificent McEvoy Ranch in Petaluma and her role there. Following the discussion, enjoy wine from a favorite Sonoma winery and light hors d’oeuvres featuring McEvoy Ranch’s Olio Nuovo. Olive Oil Education with Albert Katz & Festivities
January 22, 2010. 5pm-7pm.
Join Junipero & Co. as we host an evening of Olive Oil Education and festivities to celebrate the Olive Season with Albert Katz. Albert, one of the founding members of the California Olive Council and one-time president, will give a lively presentation on the fascinating history and exciting future of the California olive oil industry. During which, we will enjoy a multitude of olive oil based hors d’oeuvres utilizing KATZ award-winning estate oils, lovingly prepared by their chef, Jacob Lovell, and local chef Stephen Viguerie. Wines will be poured by a favorite Sonoma County Winery and live music from Michel Saga.
