The ritual of an afternoon Aperitif or Spritz is a European lifestyle that is taken quite seriously and allows us to relax with friends and family over a drink. The word apéro refers to both a style of drink (aperitif) and a time of day to celebrate the start of the evening.

Beyond the social and relaxing aspect, the Sonoma Spritz is a civilized way to chill and get ready for dinner by stimulating the appetite before dinner. The bitter roots used in an aperitif have been used for centuries to aid digestion.

How to make a Sonoma Spritz:

Sonoma Spritz recipe

  • 3oz Gloria Ferrer Brut Sparkling wine
  • 2oz Apero Americano SPRITZ (from Prohibition Spirits)
  • 1 oz club soda
  • orange slice for garnish

Directions: In a large wine glass filled with ice, combine Gloria Ferrer Brut and  Apero Americano SPRITZ. Top with club soda and garnish with an orange slice.

The Sonoma Spritz is a sunny, bright aperitivo that is a happy balance between bitter and sweet.
