You do not want to miss out on the best 4th of July celebration in Sonoma Valley, California. It’s no wonder Travel + Leisure named Sonoma one of America’s Best Towns for July 4th and Sonoma received an honorable mention in the USA Today 10 Best poll.
The Sonoma Plaza celebrates in true, authentic style, hosting its annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration and Parade. This decades long tradition begins with a fantastic parade filled with marching bands and extravagant floats, usually welcoming over 10,000 viewers lining the historic Sonoma Plaza’s sidewalks and storefronts. This year, the theme is Honoring Our Local Heroes. The Sonoma Plaza continues its spirited energy throughout the day with live music, games, craft booths, and of course food, beer and wine. The 8-acre park serves as the birthplace of California, with the original statue of the Bear Flag Revolt, which dates back to 1846. The Revolt occurred when American settlers overthrew the Mexican government and declared California an independent republic.
But it doesn’t stop there! Finish off the fantastic star-spangled celebration with a bright and colorful 45-minute fireworks display. Sonoma Valley and its engaging atmosphere is a one-of-a-kind surrounding to celebrate Independence Day with family and friends.
The celebration kicks off at 10am in downtown Sonoma!
