How are watercolors created? You can find out at the next “Sunday Social” at HOPSCOTCH Gifts & Gallery in Glen Ellen on Sunday October 2. Join gallery staff, local friends, and the Marin watercolor artist,Benita Gaudier, over free iced tea and cookies. She will demonstrate her watercolor painting technique between 11:00 and 4:00. Gaudier says, “My paintings hang in over 200 corporate and private collections. I also teach watercolor classes privately. I am a Member of Marin Watercolor Society.” In addition to Gaudier’s professional design and art training, she studied portrait painting privately for several years. “Recently I have turned to painting barnyard creatures because I am so charmed by faces and expressions of domestic and barnyard animals. I paint miscellaneous critters for my own enjoyment and, perhaps most rewarding, do commissioned portraits of people’s beloved pets.” Several of her barnyard animal watercolors will be displayed at the gallery.
