Hearty Winter Soups for the Soul Cooking Class

Friday, February 13 2009, 11:00am - 2:00pm
When the weather turns colder, nothing satisfies like a steaming bowl of soup. Wonderfully versatile and easy, soup can be made with your favorite ingredients, allowing you to create your own flavor combinations. Chef Lisa Kuk will teach students how to make a basic stock, an essential tool in any cook's repertoire and an invaluable component in making soups and stews, along with some recipes to inspire you to recreate this cold weather food at home.

• Wild Rice Soup with Bacon and Mushrooms
• Ancho Pork Chili with Rice and Beans
• Puree of Winter Vegetables with Arugula Pistou
• Creole-style Gumbo with Chicken, Shrimp and Andouille Sausage
