MFA Selections, the third biennial salute to Bay Area emerging artists. In the tradition established by founder, Rene di Rosa, for discovering and supporting new talent, the MFA exhibition showcases the work of artists who recently completed their Master’s of Fine Art degrees at Bay Area art schools and colleges.

The artists included in the exhibition are chosen, by a jury of arts professionals, from a pool of artists nominated by faculty from regional institutions including California College of the Arts, John F. Kennedy University, Mills College, San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco State University,Stanford University, UC Berkeley and UC Davis. This year’s jury, includes Packard Jennings, an accomplished Bay Area artist represented in the di Rosa collection; gallerist Kimberly Johansson of Johansson Projects in Oakland; and Griff Williams, Owner of Gallery 16, San Francisco.

Reflecting the diverse voices of young artists working today, MFA Selections will include works in a broad cross section of media, from painting and sculpture to video, and installation. The works on exhibition are chosen with the artists, who may create and/or select works especially for the show at di Rosa’s Gatehouse Gallery.
