The first group will start with Chef Michael in the kitchen on an intensive course in classic French sauces. The second group will join Chef Antonio for an hour of knife skills work…butchering, slicing, dicing, chopping, julienning—all the seafood, meats, and vegetables for our dinner. After an hour…and a break…everyone trades positions and Chefs. Together you will all prepare a delicious five-course French dinner.
Around 5:30 everyone takes a well-earned break for a glass of wine by the pool.
At 6:00 pm, you welcome your invited guest(s) into the dining room. (You may invite from 1 to 3 guests to join you for the evening to taste what you have prepared!)
After cocktail hour, the lovely meal that you have worked to prepare is served to you by a waiter, along with matching wines.
Dress for Guest Chef: Dress for practicality, in pants and a long sleeve shirt with non-skid shoes (tennis shoes are fine.) You are welcome to bring a change of shoes for dinner, if you like. We will provide an apron.
Dress for dinner guests: Casual chic. Please do not invite your guest to come any earlier than 6 pm--but 6 pm prompt is fine, as wine and appetizer service will begin at that time!
Class tuition is $130 for the student chef, $70 for the guest, which includes a three-hour class for the student chef. It also includes the five-course dinner for the student chef and guests with wines, tax, and tip included.
