Fashion conceals an uncomfortable truth. The industry is one of the world's biggest, and uses more water than any other apart from agriculture. Far too many people in the industry work under inhumane conditions. There are alternatives, however. This exhibition by the Swedish Institute showcases Swedish fashion designers who take an environmentally friendly and ethical approach to their work, without sacrificing an ounce of fashion.
Daniel McCormick–Accompanying the Eco Chic show is an exhibition of work by this Marin-based environmental installation and restoration artist. McCormick constructs his sculptures from riparian materials and designs them to influence the eological balance of compromised environments, to give advantage to the natural system, and to allow damaged areas of watersheds to reestablish themselves.
