Our name, ADASTRA, is taken from the Latin saying "Per aspera, ad astra" which translates to "Through striving, to the stars."
We strive to craft wines that capture the essence of our family’s twelve-acre organic vineyard: a unique combination of fog, soil, clones and stars in the Carneros AVA. From 50 cases in 1995 to fewer than 1,500 cases per year today, our focus has always been on producing the highest quality estate-grown Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. When the stars are aligned, we are able to produce our ultra-premium Proximus Pinot Noir. Most of our wine is sold directly from our tasting room – ADASTRA Wine & Art on the Sonoma Plaza – and to wine club members and friends from around the world.
We invite you to experience ADASTRA.
ADASTRA Wine & Art
Our tasting room is situated right on the historic Sonoma Plaza, complete with views of City Hall, ambling ducks and flags blowing in the breeze. The grassy Plaza, with its benches and shade, makes an ideal picnic location most times of the year. (Did you know it’s perfectly legal to enjoy a bottle of ADASTRA wine on the Plaza during daylight hours?)
We currently offer a complimentary tasting of at least two wines and an Estate Tasting for $20 which features wines from our organically-farmed vineyard in the Napa Carneros. We also offer wines by the glass, making us the perfect spot for a pre-prandial libation.
As our name implies, we are also an art gallery displaying a rotating selection of work by local artists. The impressive works of Dennis Ziemienski and Rey Isip are currently featured. We donate ten percent of art sale proceeds to Sonoma Plein Air, a non-profit dedicated to ensuring students in Sonoma schools have access to art education.
