The traditional clay oven is used to create a smoky flavor for signature curries, as well as for typical tandoor dishes such as kebabs and fresh breads (Naans). Master Chef Bhupender attempts to not overwhelm the food with spices, and aims to tantalize the senses with the right amount of flavors so food can be truly enjoyed.
Delhi Belly Indian Bistro was envisioned by the creative thinking of two friends, Bhupender Singh and Raj Singh, while reminiscing of the childhood feasts they experienced in their hometown, Delhi. They both grew up eating and enjoying the street foods of Delhi, and wanted to bring those same dishes with a modern twist to the mass public.
Delhi has always been a hub for creativity and innovation in Indian cooking, and the aim is to bring that same dining experience to you with the introduction of Delhi Belly Indian Bistro. Master Chef Bhupender Singh has a culinary background and will be focusing on introducing savory dishes with his own unique signature style. Raj Singh has a finance and customer experience background and will be focusing on ensuring a memorable dining experience. Their mutual love and passion for food has been the inspiration behind Delhi Belly Indian Bistro.
About the Chef:
Master Chef Bhupender has over two decades of experience in creating mouthwatering Indian dishes. After completing his culinary education, he started his career at 'Bukhara' restaurant in New Delhi, India. Bukhara has been rated by Restaurant magazine as one of the top 50 restaurants in the world. He later opened five successful restaurants in Monterey, California and its surrounding areas. He is the co-owner of Ambrosia India Bistro and the owner of Avatar Indian grill. His other accomplishments involve consulting for such restaurants as Safforn in Southern California.
Master Chef Bhupender has excelled in creating memorable and flavorful meals that bring to life the aromas of India. His preparation, presentation, and aromas are true to authentic Indian cooking. He attempts to create new dishes out of the long-standing staples of Indian cuisine. He also pays special attention to ensure quality ingredients which are healthy and delicious.
