The Sonoma Valley Authors’ Festival (SVAF) is committed to accomplishing two, inter-related goals. First, to stimulate the minds and nourish the souls of readers. Second, and equally important, is to encourage students to explore the world through the written word. By meeting and interacting with authors from various perspectives, we want the students to be inspired to pursue their dreams regardless of the obstacles that they must overcome.
The program for the general public will begin at 6pm on a Friday, May 4 at the Jack London Winery ruins in Glen Ellen, with two keynote speakers. A reception for the attendees will follow the presentations. Local wineries and restaurants will be given the opportunity to participate.
The SVAF will continue on Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5, at the Hanna Boys Center in Glen Ellen. The program on these days will feature a combination of keynote speakers in the general sessions followed by breakout sessions. Approximately 25 authors will be participating.
The program will run from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and 9am-3pm on Sunday. Breakfast and lunch will be served both days. The mix of authors and speakers participating will reflect a variety of topics and include fiction and non-fiction, biographies, history, adventure, medicine, technology and science.
