The largest event of the week will be the Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Hanna Boys Center. We purposely chose this date, as it is National Travel & Tourism Week’s official ‘Travel Rally Day,” with this year’s focus being the Faces of Tourism, which is an effort to bring attention to the individuals and families who rely on the tourism industry for their livelihood and quality of life.


Our program includes exciting updates by Jonny Westom, SVVB Executive Director; including: annual member report, and 2017-18 marketing and public relations plan! Caroline Beteta, President/CEO of Visit California will be our guest speaker. Celebrate and network with your colleagues and friends during the Annual Membership Meeting reception, which will include tastes of Sonoma Valley wines, craft beer, and hors d'oeuvres.

The Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau (SVVB) is hosting it’s second annual Media Day on Friday, May 12.

The goal of Sonoma Valley’s Media Day is to introduce our media partners and contacts to the SVVB membership. The bureau is hoping that the attending members will become more familiar with the products and services that our media partners offer, as well as any co-op opportunities that the SVVB offer their members. The Sonoma Valley tourism market is very hot right now, and a lot more co-op advertising opportunities have been placed. This is a great time to develop a relationship with our media partners and help extend the efforts for the destination. Media attending include AFAR Magazine, Comcast, Diablo Magazine, Napa/Sonoma Magazine, ABC 7, KFOG, Miles Media, Outfront Media, San Francisco Chronicle, Sonoma Magazine, Sunset Magazine, Coastal Living, Visit California, The Press Democrat, Touring & Tasting Magazine, TravelZoo, Trip Advisor, Where San Francisco, and more.
