The Sonoma City Council and City of Sonoma is delighted to present the 21st Annual Sonoma City Party. The City of Sonoma hosts this community party to bring our local community together for fun, festivities, and to celebrate our special town.  A long standing tradition, this unique event celebrates the rich history of Sonoma, its residents, businesses, and non-profits.  The event is free to attend and will be held at the Sonoma Plaza on Friday, August 18, 2017, from 5:30 - 10:00 p.m.   The Friday of the first week of school, the City Party will be the place to celebrate the end of summer with friends and family.  This year, we are pleased to offer.

There is an extensive line-up of local and Bay Area bands, featuring a selection of Latin Salsa, Blues, Rock, and Pop from the renowned N'Rumba, Junior Boogie and Friend's, and Riptide. For more information, please see the attached flyer.

New to the event in 2017 will be a variety of gourmet food prepared by our local non-profit organizations here in the Valley. What better way to support our local non-profits than purchasing sausage sandwiches, hamburgers, burritos, fruit salad, cookies and pies. Sales of food benefit the community via the following local non-profits: Nuestra Voz of Sonoma, St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Soroptimist, and Sonoma Overnight Support. Another option is to order a sumptuous picnic direct from our local merchants.  Sonoma Market is offering a lovingly curated picnic that includes sandwiches, salads, and sweets, all with a Wine Country twist - simply order direct and pick-up to go.  More restaurant partners are in process, so check the website for other picnic or pick-up food options if you want something different and don’t want to cook.

Cold beer and wine will be poured by our local Native Sons of the Golden West and American Veterans (AMVETS). This year’s brews and wine have been generously donated by Lagunitas Brewing Company and Highway 12 Wines. Proceeds will go directly to the Native Sons of the Golden West and American Veterans (AMVETS).

Bring along your picnic blankets, folding camp tables and chairs, picnic supplies, warm clothing, a flashlight, dancing shoes and you’re all set!

No unattended set-up prior to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017.  Items left unattended will be removed.  No roping off or barricading of sections in the Plaza; those who do this will be asked to take it down immediately.

You cannot bring household furniture (this includes dining tables, sofas and chairs), no barbecues of any kind, no candles, no tents or canopies, or aerosols of any kind.  No pets are allowed in the park.

As always, no smoking of any kind is allowed in the Plaza.

The event is supported by many local associations and businesses.  Current sponsors include: Sonoma Raceway, Sonoma Chevrolet, Black Bear Dinner, and Redwood Credit Union.  If you are interested in sponsoring, please contact Lisa Janson at 415.259.9458.
