The Sonoma Plaza celebrates in true, authentic style, hosting its annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration and Parade. This decades long tradition begins with a fantastic parade filled with marching bands and extravagant floats, usually welcoming over 10,000 viewers lining the historic Sonoma Plaza’s sidewalks and storefronts. This years theme is "Rocket Out of this World" Valley of the Moon celebrates 50 years. The Sonoma Plaza continues its spirited energy throughout the day with live music, games, craft booths, and of course food, beer and wine. The 8-acre park serves as the birthplace of California, with the original statue of the Bear Flag Revolt, which dates back to 1846. The Revolt occurred when American settlers overthrew the Mexican government and declared California an independent republic.
But it doesn’t stop there! Finish off the fantastic star-spangled celebration with a bright and colorful 45-minute fireworks display. Sonoma Valley and its engaging atmosphere is a one-of-a-kind surrounding to celebrate Independence Day with family and friends.
