Find a place to stay in Sonoma!
Nov 2 - 24, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (minus Thanksgiving Day), 2 pm to 6 pm.
Teens may also attend from 4 pm to 6 pm if their school schedule does now allow for the full session.
Our apprenticeship sessions aim to provide professional artistic mentorship to the creative youth of Sonoma County. Each apprentice is assigned to a lead artist, and as a team they work on an assigned project. Projects have been commissioned from a private client, or are funded by a grant or through the city.
Through their work with Artstart, apprentices will learn the time and planning that goes into commissioned professional art. Designing, choosing and mixing colors, manual fabrication with power tools, communicating with clients, and managing the timeline of a job, are all aspects of professional art practice that the apprentice will have exposure to.
Apprentices are paid a small stipend for their participation.
If you haven't participated in an Artstart apprenticeship in the last year, you must apply by submitting an application and a portfolio.
