On Saturday, November 16 we will be celebrating the annual Lighting of the Plaza with thousands of local residents and visitors as we illuminate the historic downtown with hundreds of thousands of lights and enjoy music, food, cookies, cocoa, cider and even some local libations.
We invite you to join the Sonoma Tourism Improvement District, the City of Sonoma and local businesses like Benziger Winery, The Lodge at Sonoma, Sonoma Market and others and sponsor this amazing event.
The Lighting of the Plaza is the official kick-off to the Holidays in Sonoma Valley as we all count-down and light the towering palm tree that stands over the illuminated Plaza. New this year will be a "Lighted Star Forest" and a "Curtain of Lights" in the north end of the plaza, inviting repeat visitors looking for the perfect photo AND the chance to explore Sonoma's restaurants, shops, tasting rooms and attractions.
Sponsorships start at $500 and include the chance to be a title sponsor - complete with your logo on the official, reusable Sustainable Party Cup. This keepsake will be used for wine and beer sales and is sure to be used for years as we continue our journey to more environmentally friendly city celebrations.
Please let us know which one interests you and we will make sure to include you.
Please note that the TITLE SPONSOR is limited - we can only accept one sponsor for the limited edition Sustainable Party Cups.

A free community event in downtown Sonoma on October 31st from 2-5pm.
Join us for the second annual FREE trick-or-treat Halloween event around the Plaza. We will promote this to families with children aged 10 and under.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
Sign up to purchase and hand out candy on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 2 - 5 pm to local families. For more details and to sign up, please call us at (707) 996-1090 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
WHY: This is a completely free event and a way to thank our community. Also, with Halloween on a weekday (it’s Thursday this year) and many of our neighbors living where there aren’t sidewalks, it provides a safe way for younger children to enjoy Halloween.
CHECK-IN: Participants will check in at the SVVB Plaza Visitors Center and receive a map with all of the businesses. All shops will be given a poster to hang in their windows to show they are a stop.
CANDY & COLLATERAL If you don’t want to hand out candy, then think of another delightful trinket or treat that you can give to local children.
This is also a good time to hand out information about your business and any promotions to local parents.
THIS EVENT IS HAPPENING RAIN OR SHINE: We are planning for rain as much as is possible, and encourage all guests to attend, perhaps in rain boots!
San Francisco Travel is heading to New York City for their annual media dinner on Thursday, October 24.
The event brings in top-tier national and east coast media (30 total) to hear about what is happening in the San Francisco Bay Area and provide reasons to write about / cover Northern California.
Sonoma Valley is the exclusive wine sponsor for this event.
STATUS: GONE! Thank you to Benziger, Gloria-Ferrer and Highway 12 wines for participating!
