Carneros

Just south of the city of Sonoma, Carneros is a beautiful swath of land along the valley floor encompassing vineyards, wineries, marshland, rolling vineyards, and lush gardens. The vineyards of Carneros overlap both Sonoma and Napa counties, but the township of Carneros is its own corner of Sonoma Valley with plenty of scenic stops to make to satisfy your inner photographer.

Carneros’ afternoon breezes, early morning fog and sun-soaked days are what make its famous wine region what it is. “Los Carneros” means “rams” in Spanish. Don’t be surprised if you find a few grazing in the local vineyards—they are the agents of fertilization that winegrowers look to every winter!
