Santa Rosa
The largest city in Sonoma County, home of the Charles M. Schulz Museum, the Sonoma County airport and hip hotels and world-famous breweries, Santa Rosa is often the jumping-off point for visitors to Sonoma Valley. It is also situated near the Russian River Valley, famous for the recreation opportunities along what locals just call "The River." Travelers heading to Armstrong Redwoods will often pass through Santa Rosa and can spend some time exploring the downtown plaza and restaurants, or find a place to stay.
