The Springs
Encompassing the unincorporated towns of Boyes Hot Springs, Fetters Hot Springs, and Aqua Caliente, “the Springs” are some of the most lively and colorful neighborhoods in and around the City of Sonoma. Filled with interesting local restaurants, brightly colored shops and storefronts, and small winding roads, the Springs are one of Sonoma Valley’s hidden gems that visitors seem to miss. But behind the main strip of Highway 12, you’ll find charming neighborhoods tucked into the hills, cute cafés, and parks. Historically, many of the families that call the Springs home immigrated as farm workers, working and nourishing the land from the days of orchards, to groves, to the vineyards that grow world-class wines today. Today, small businesses thrive, many started by the next generation of Springs residents.
Known as a hotspot of thermal activity prior to the 1906 earthquake, the Springs has been a wellness destination for generations. When the 1906 earthquake shifted plate tectonics, tourists forgot about the Springs, but we didn’t! Find remaining thermal pools at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and the Sonoma Aquatic Center.
